Over the last 30 years, Libra-Plant has grown steadily, from a purveyor of a single Alimak lift to world-class supplier with a rental fleet of 60 lifts and more than 100 permanent lifts to its name. It remains the exclusive supplier of Alimak rack-and-pinion hoist and vertical access solutions in South Africa – a testament to its superior quality, global vision and exceptional service.

Company history
Walter Baur acquired Libra-Plant in the late 1980s, thereby appropriating the exclusive Alimak agency.
Baur’s daughter, Trudi, joined the business in the early 2000s and together, they steered Libra-Plant into market-leader position. Both Walter and Trudi still hold directorship positions in this striving business.
In 2020, the Baurs welcomed new directors to their team, to drive their vision for pioneering and ambitious business growth.
